Abercrombie & Fitch Pays The Situation not to Wear Brand

The Jersey Shore cast seems to be getting quite a reputation for ruling the anti-endorsement world. Last year a rival company sent Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi a few Gucci bags in order to make Gucci look bad. Now A&F are begging Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino not to wear their clothing.

A&F is willing to pay Mike in order for him to stop wearing the brand’s name. A rep for the company states, “We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino’s association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans. We have therefore offered a substantial payment to Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino and the producers of MTV’sThe Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response.”
