A New ‘Lord of the Rings’ Video Game
I’ve got some great news for all of you Lord of the Rings fans out there, there has been news that there’s a new Lord of the Rings game in development called “Legends of Middle-earth.”
The Saul Zaentz Company who owns the Middle-earth Enterprises has already grabbed a couple of domain names around somewhere in March: LegendsofMiddleEarthGame.com, LOMgame.com and LOMEgame.com, but sadly none of the websites I just named are up yet.
If Legends of Middle-earth actually gets made, I don’t think it will be much of a surprise to everyone. Apparently a pen and paper role playing game which has the same name was created by a fan and posted it online somewhere in 2004.
Just the news of a new LOTR game makes me extremely excited; I’m a huge fan of the franchise though it’s sad to say that a lot of the games that have been have sucked like The Lord of the Rings Conquest and The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, for both of these games I had very high hopes for them but when I got to finally play them it disappointed me greatly. The only good LOTR games I can name are The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth I and II were amazing, also the expansion was great. I somewhat liked the The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Videogame also.
I wonder if this will be a rebirth of a canceled game called The Lord of the Rings: White Council, although I don’t really know if there’s any connection I once again have high hopes for this game. The main thing I’d like for this game to have is a rich RPG experience and a good plot, maybe they could even go and do something similar to the Knight of the Old Republic and go back many years and make a game that’s based far from where the events of the books took place in either way it would make me happy.
This isn’t all, there’s also going to be a game based on The Hobbit, that’s planned to released somewhere at the same time as the film, which will be in theatres on December 14th.
