Peter Jackson’s crew might have been taking some deserved time off for Easter break, but this gave us fans of Tolkien and Peter Jackson’s work a chance for a sneak peek at a set from the upcoming two-part movie.
The set can be seen at St Studios located in Miramar, the gates to the studio were open on Saturday because an alarm was set off ‘causing firefighters to respond. Matthew Dravitzki, Peter’s spokesman didn’t hear about it and assumed that it could have been a false alarm.
Mathew Dravitzki said “We’re all enjoying an Easter break and return to work on Tuesday.” During the incident, a security guard blocked a Dominion Post photographer from taking pictures of the set from the street.
He also said that shooting would not continue at Stone St until July, since part of the parking area on the corner of both Southampton Rd and Stone St was in fact private property.
Last year The Dominion Post revealed that the Fire Serves had signed an agreement which was confidential with Stone St Studios and Weta Workshop.
This movie looks like it’s going to be extremely amazing, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be releasing on December 14th, 2012 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again on December
