Jonas Brothers Leave Hollywood Records

Jonas Brothers Leave Hollywood Records

Nick Jonas and Joe Jonas enjoyed a sunny day in New York City as they grabbed a bit to eat for lunch on Monday (May 7). The brothers met a friend at Peels Restaurant on Bowery in East Village. While waiting for a table, they ran into Alexa Chung.

This weekend, the Jonas Brothers announced that they would be leaving Hollywood Records. The brothers’ manager stated, “We don’t have to have a record out under any time constraints, so they’re free to just create and explore and do it at their own pace, and they’re enjoying it.”

The brothers have released three albums under Hollywood Records, a Disney-owned label, over the course of six years and may be ready for something new. With Kevin married and having a new reality show underway, as well as Nick having just come off Broadway and Joe a solo career, there is no doubt the boys will come back with a new sound.

Nick gave the following statement:”

This was a decision that we made as a group. Naturally, as with any partnership, when you do part ways, there is emotion tied to it. We’ve been blessed to have a lot of success with Hollywood and with Disney, but speaking on behalf of my brothers and our team, we’re all looking forward to this next chapter. We’re ready for that next step as a group, and being able to take our work with us was so important.

Now the boys are focusing on where they will go next; they are even considering a new logo. Their manager claims that we can expect a new album out by late 2012, maybe early 2013. The boys have yet to release an album since the 2009 Lines, Vines, and Trying Times.
