Celeb Teen Laundry Interview With HGTV’s Mike Holmes

Celeb Teen Laundry’s very own “Mr. Hollywood” Shannon Rose talks with HGTV’s Mike Holmes about his advice on safe home improvement.

Mike Holmes hosts HGTV’s Holmes on Homes, giving homeowners around the world advice on how to manage renovations, home repairs and maintenance. A contractor who knows the importance of resourcefulness and craftsmanship, his experience in new-home construction and sustainable building has garnered him a growing fan base. In 2006, he launched a charitable foundation to support the training of youth in the skilled trades through apprenticeships and scholarships. In addition, Mike and his crew built a remarkable sustainable and hurricane-resistant house in New Orleans as part of Brad Pitt‘s “Make It Right NOLA” project. Currently, Mike is developing a unique community of eco-friendly and sustainable homes that will set a new standard for residential construction and design. Mike also is the author of two successful books and writes a weekly newspaper column.

Mike discusses with Shannon the common safety mistakes people make during home improvement, ways to safely deal with chemicals and aerosols, which jobs to leave in the hands of professionals, what protective gear he recommends for “do-it-yourself” homeowners, as well as safety measures to take when using a ladder or scaffold.
