With the Jersey Shore over, MTV is looking for the next big thing. Their new niche for reality TV seems to be outrageous party obsessed kids, and unique locations. Their new reality show Buckwild is all of that, reports inTouch Magazine in print edition January 7, 2013. The show follows a group of friends in West Virginia who, bored to death in a rural setting, have to get creative when it comes to having fun.
“There’s not a lot to do in West Virginia, so we make our own fun,” explains 22-year-old Anna David. Their daredevil activities include shooting off a ramp into a lake to stay cool. Commercials may show a tarp-lined truck filling in as a swimming pool, but most of their inventions are a lot more dangerous. “I’ve broken a couple ribs, both my collar bones, both my wrists, my right arm and both my legs–twice,” Shain Gandee says. But it’s all in the name of entertainment, right?
The show is so crazy that US Senator Joe Manchin wanted MTV to pull it, but was turned down. It will debut as planned on January 3, 2013, on MTV at 10pm. The cast, all of whom will probably become household names by Valentine, alternate between outrageous, Jack*ss like daredevil stunts, mostly using home made equipment, drinking, and partying. Tyler Boulet, a playboy whose left broken hearts all over West Virginia, has been earmarked as the next Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.
