Yesterday [01/24/13], 17-year-old singing sensation Ryan Beatty collected jeans on behalf of the 6th Annual ‘Teens for Jeans’ campaign at Aéropostale in Times Square.
Ryan Beatty successfully released his debut EP “Because of You”, taking a #1 spot on the iTunes Pop Charts. He has gained worldwide popularity with 35 million views on YouTube and is currently touring throughout the US. (EP “Because of You” is available on iTunes now).
‘Teens for Jeans’ urges teens to help provide the number one item requested by homeless youth at shelters: jeans. Throughout the campaign, people can donate their gently worn jeans at any Aéropostale or P.S. from Aéropostale store. To say thanks, Aéropostale will give an additional 25% off a new pair of jeans. All jeans donated will be distributed to local shelters throughout the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. In
addition to store drop-offs, Aéropostale and DoSomething.org are encouraging schools to take action by running collection drives. The school that collects the most jeans will win a $10,000 scholarship,
Aéropostale school spirit sweatshirts for the whole school, and a pizza party. This year’s campaign runs January 14th to February 10th.
