Ben Affleck Is Batman For Man Of Steel Sequel
So, Warner Brothers just confirmed Ben Affleck as Batman for the Man of Steel sequel, and then probably their Justice League movie after that. I’ll let that sink in for a few seconds.
Ben Affleck is not the worst actor out there, but does he compare to Christian Bale? That is probably a resounding no. First of all, Ben’s talents are better suited to directing. He’s never been a strong actor, which is why Matt Damon always landed more prestigious acting roles than him. Think about when Ben’s career started turning around after the mess that was Gigli – that would be after he directed Gone Baby Gone, and then The Town.
He’s only Oscar caliber when he’s directing films, but as Batman? I have a very bad feeling that he’ll be very mediocre. In fact, I have a feeling that the entire movie will be mediocre.
The director of the film, Zack Snyder, released a statement saying, “Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.”
