Search for the Hero inside Yourself

No one is going to save you from your life. It’s a fact. Many of us have this naive belief that someone will arrive on a horse and save us from our circumstances, and we’ll mount this horse and ride with him/her into the sunset. We dream for days on end and wonder what our savior will look like. Eventually, after time passes, we realize that no one is going to come save us, because the only person who is able to save you, is you.

You are the creator of your future, you are the one in charge of your dreams, and hopes, and destiny, and you are the only one who is able to save this allegedly unsalvageable vessel. Even if your circumstances are beyond your control, and you’re falling apart like a dry scab on a daily basis, you can still make this life a worthwhile experience. You only have to believe in yourself and as clichéd as that might sound, self-belief is the atomic bomb in your arsenal of weapons. If you believe in yourself, you’ll not only be able to accomplish everything you’ve always wished to accomplish, but you’ll also be able to reach for the stars and never look back. Yes, it’s easy for us to sit here and say that, because we don’t have your life, nor do we have your life experiences. However, many people have accomplished extraordinary things just by believing in themselves – people with disabilities, people with mental illnesses, people with issues and sadness, people who are in abusive relationships, and people who have no way of escaping their circumstances.

How do you believe in yourself? How do you believe that you’re able to accomplish the insurmountable? You just have to. You have to reach deep inside of yourself and pull out the fighter. Eventually, with time and practice, you’ll realize that nothing can stand in your way and you’ll know that whatever demons life throws at you, you’ll be able to slay.
