Robert Pattinson Upset That He Didn’t Land Fifty Shades Of Grey Role

Robert Pattinson is very upset that he didn’t land Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey.. in another universe. I don’t know if the writers at the National Enquirer are smoking crack, because their latest story is hilarious.

According to the Enquirer’s ‘sources’, “Rob was dying to play the iconic ‘Fifty Shades’ hero, Christian, [but studio execs] feel Rob’s much too closely identified with the ‘Twilight’ movies.”

Well, Fifty Shades of Grey did start out as Twilight fan fiction so I guess it would have been a good match. Anyway, Rob was never considered by the studio or the production company, and he never wanted to be in the movie to begin with. In fact, he’s outright laughed at the suggestions in the past, and he’s made it clear that he thinks the books are not very good.

According to reports from the Hollywood Reporter, the top choice for the role was actually Ryan Gosling – but when isn’t Ryan Gosling the top choice for every role? Apparently, he turned it down because… well, he’s Ryan Gosling. Why would he take this? It’s considered glorified mommy porn in book circles and even if the film does very well, Gosling doesn’t need the attention nor the money.
