Alexa Ray Joel In Recovery After Passing Out On Stage During Concert

Concerns for Alexa Ray Joel’s health are at an all-time high after the singer’s recent collapse on stage in New York City. She was performing at Cafe Carlyle in New York City on Saturday night to a sold-out crowd when she collapsed. She was reportedly rushed to a hospital and diagnosed with vasovagal syncope, which affects blood flow to the brain and can cause fainting and dizzy spells. It does not require treatment, and Alexa is reportedly recovering well from the incident.

In a statement to People, Alexa said, “I wanted to thank everyone for coming out to support me. I was excited and determined to fulfill my final performance and I really wanted to end my run with a bang, but this was not what I had in mind and hope I have the opportunity to make it up to the wonderful audience very soon. Thanks for all the concern.” She was also not in the best condition before the performance, as her rep added that she had also pulled out her back and neck before she went on stage.

Now, it’s very possible that this is all there is to the story. Alexa may have been tired and stressed out, and that might have exacerbated the condition. However, with the amount of plastic surgery she’s gotten, the drastic weight loss, and rumors of her fragile mental health, sources are worried that Alexa may be suffering from an eating disorder and other more serious conditions. There’s no denying that Alexa’s faced issues in the past, and although she claims that she’s doing great, friends have stated that she’s still dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety. Obviously, it’s not easy being the daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley, and hopefully Alexa won’t focus too much on their legacy, but rather her own happiness and health.
