Fall brings out the best colors of the years, with all the bright reds, oranges, and yellows. Here are some autumn themed craft ideas for kids.
Fall nature wreaths
This is an easy craft that kids will love to make and all you need are items from nature, construction paper and glue. First, you need to gather some items from nature: pinecones, acorns and leaves. You will also need to cut out wreaths that are around 6 inches in diameter. You can use construction paper or other paper of that density for the wreaths. Spread out the pinecones, acorns and leaves on the table so the kids can choose what they want to put on their fall wreath. Once they have made their choices, use Tacky Glue or other sticky glue, to attach the items to the wreath.

Paper plate owls
For this fun, fall craft, you will need paper plates, black cardstock, white cardstock, brown cardstock, leaves from the yard, scissors and glue. Cut the stems off of the leaves, then, using glue, attach them to the paper plate so they resemble owl feathers. Using the black cardstock, cut out two black circles and then two smaller circle from the white cardstock for the eyes. Using the brown cardstock, cut a triangle for the beak, two 2-inch diagonal squares for the ears and feet and one 4-inch diagonal square for the owl’s wings. Then, just glue all the owl’s parts in place on the paper plate.

Pumpkin spice playdough
Kids love playing with playdough so why not help them make some playdough for fall? You will need 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of water, ¼ cup of salt, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, 2 teaspoons of cream of tartar and 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice. In a saucepan, over medium heat, add all the ingredients. Stir the mixture until a smooth ball forms. Remove from the saucepan and let it cool completely. Then, let the kids have fun!
