Are you ready to be a babysitter?
So, do you think you’d like to try your hand at babysitting? Do you love kids? Are you looking to earn a little extra money? Babysitting can be a tempting way to do something you love and get paid for it, but it’s also an awesome responsibility!
No worries, though! Babysitting is a big responsibility but with proper preparation, you might just become the most popular babysitter on your block. First though, ask yourself a few questions to figure out if babysitting is right for you.
What age range do you feel most comfortable with? Would you like stick to an age range that’s close to yours, or are you capable of caring for babies, infants and toddlers?

No matter what age range you sit with, you should be trained to handle emergencies that could come up while others are in your care. First aid and CPR classes are offered in most cities, so be sure to check out the resources available to you in your town.
Next, ask yourself the following question, and answer honestly: are you patient, trustworthy and mature enough to be responsible for small children?
These are the traits that their parents will look for, so if you think babysitting is all about texting and playing games on your phone while the kids do their own thing, think again!
Of course this is a conversation that you need to have with your parents. Not only do they know your strengths and weaknesses better than anyone else, they’ll need to be on board with your plans before you get started!

But if you do decide that babysitting is right for you, there is one fun question you’ll need to answer: how much will you charge? After all babysitting is a fun adventure, but it’s also a job! Be sure to find out what other sitters are charging in your neighborhood, and take that into account when you set an hourly rate.
Most of all, have fun, enjoy yourself and know that babysitters are some of the most awesome people around!
