According to at least one source close to Prince William, he probably won’t be shelling out a few bucks for his brother’s outrageous bio Finding Freedom. And it’s not because he’s expecting a free, autographed copy in the mail.
Speaking to Us Weekly, the source revealed the worst kept secret this week, which is that William thinks the book, which paints him in a decidedly unflattering light, is a bunch of hogwash. The controversial bio of Harry and his wife Meghan Markle is all about their need to flee the UK and it’s mean inhabitants, namely Harry’s family so that they could be in the words of The Police song, “free, free, set them free.”

The salacious tell-all isn’t out officially until August 11 but already excerpts from the bio by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have sent the scandal mill into overdrive. So far some very jaw-dropping excerpts have been published about the behind-the-scenes relationships that led Harry and Meghan to drop Megxit, a public and humiliating public divorce from the monarchy.
A spokesperson spilled to Us spills that the book’s content is, “based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps,” and that Harry and Meghan had absolutely zero involvement in providing the book’s content.
Apparently William, along with the rest of the world, isn’t buying that line of convenient responsibility absolving.

“William thinks the book is their calculated way of controlling the narrative and that they took advantage of their entertainment contacts so they’d be painted in a favorable light,” says the source, summing up what countless royal experts have already said.

However, once the unfavorable reaction to the book began to explode like volcano lava, Harry and Meghan went on the defensive claiming to have not participated in any way, shape, or form. This seems unlikely given how one author has called her his soul mate, and multiple experts think the examples are just too close to the inside to have come from anyone but Harry and Meghan.
