The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Bradley Bell Says COVID Inspired ‘Dolly Hope’ Storyline
CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers reveal that in Los Angeles, Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) is hearing a mannequin talk to him. He is also spending time talking back to the life-sized doll that looks exactly like Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). Executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell discussed the storyline and why a mannequin is taking center state instead of a real character.
The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Thomas Forrester’s Obsession With Hope Logan
B&B spoilers reveal that Thomas has been obsessed with Hope for a very long time. However, it seemed that he had gotten over it while he was out of town “clearing his head.” He came back after Steffy Forrester’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) motorcycle accident and seemed pretty normal.
Everything changed when Thomas ran out of the office and bent over to pick something up. He bumped his head on the desk, which seems to have affected him more than he thinks. Right now, he doesn’t know why he took the mannequin home, why he is arguing with “Dolly Hope” or why he is hearing this doll talk to him.
B&B Spoilers: Auditory Hallucinations Getting Worse
The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers reveal that as time goes by, his auditory hallucinations are getting more frequent and intense. He is starting to become consumed in his mind with thoughts of Hope. He doesn’t understand what is wrong with him, but he knows something isn’t right. At the same time, the thoughts seem to be taking over his mind. Bell told Soap Opera Digest that it is all triggered by that bump on the head.
“He’s really using this inanimate object to work through his feelings, the feelings he has for the real Hope.”
The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Limited Cast Allowed On Set
A lot of viewers are wondering why a mannequin is getting more screen time than some of the core characters.Well, it was inspired by how to make a story with so few cast members being allowed on set at one time. The scribe explained,
“We’re limited in how many actors we can have onstage… and so we came up with this mannequin story that requires one actor and a doll to be onstage. It’s a little bit of a challenge that we’ve imposed upon ourselves and out of this whole COVID experience. It’s pushed our creativity with this storyline with Thomas and the mannequin. It’s also an acting challenge for Matthew and Annika.”
