Ami Brown’s Cancer Treatment
Alaskan Bush People fans were devastated when it was reported that matriarch Ami Brown was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. In 2017, she received treatment at UCLA Medical Center. During that time, the Brown family found a home just a few minutes from the medical facility. The residence was located in the Beverly Glen area.
Alaskan Bush People: Life Of Luxury
It’s no secret that patriarch Billy Brown might have his family living in the wilderness and away from society, but that’s not how he was raised. He was actually born into money and quite a lot of it. However, fans were still shocked when RadarOnline published photos of the family living in a Beverly Hills mansion worth an estimated $2.7 million.
Beverly Hills Mansion
The Alaskan Bush People stars lived in the mansion during Ami’s cancer treatment. It had five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a master suite. It also included a pool, jacuzzi, and had a kitchen with hardwood floors. In total, the mansion had a total of 14 rooms and was 3,382 square feet. It was built in 1976.
Billy and Ami’s daughter, Rain Brown, posted several photos of the mansion. So, they weren’t keeping it a secret from their fans and followers. Now, remember, even though their show was built on the idea of them struggling in the Alaskan wilderness, Billy was born rich. So, the fact that they actually lived in a mansion shouldn’t be that much of a surprise. But still, fans reacted pretty strongly to the news.
Alaskan Bush People: Cancer Remission
In 2018, just one year after receiving treatment, Ami was told she was in remission. She had initially only been given a 3 percent chance of surviving, so that is no small feat. However, the family was accused of “faking it,” so Ami’s doctors issued a written statement confirming Ami indeed received treatment for lung cancer at their medical center.
Since Ami has gone into remission, the Brown family has left Beverly Hills and the mansion. They are now living in Washington, where their ranch was destroyed by the Palmer fire.
