Sister Wives News: Janelle Brown Questions Polygamy – and So Does Kody
Sister Wives news reveals that the show featuring polygamist Kody Brown and his four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown, has a 2021 debut date.
The breakout TLC hit drops this Valentine’s Day—is there a more perfect date for this group of loved up people?
Teasers from the premiere of Sister Wives Season 15 reveal that all is not kosher in the Brown family and they aim to get to the bottom of it.
Sister Wives News: Janelle Brown Is Asking Questions About Polygamy
Polygamy is a word that seems to be on everyone’s mind these days and Kody’s second wife, Janelle, asks her husband and sister wives why they entered polygamy. Their religion is a sect of fundamentalist Mormonism known as the Apostolic United Brethren (AUB) and polygamy is known as plural marriage or the principle.
Janelle begins, “So, I’ve been thinking, How do I start this? Because I need to communicate where I’m coming from. Why did you enter into plural marriage?”
Before answering the wives want to know where this is coming from after all these years!
Sister Wives News: Janelle Wants Answers from the Sister Wives
Kody’s first wife, Meri, says, “I wonder where she’s going with this.” Kody’s third wife, Christine, says she is “surprised” by Janelle’s questioning. Both Meri and Christine Brown grew up in polygamous families.
But that was not true for Janelle, who didn’t even grow up in the fundamentalist Mormon faith.
So why did she enter the marriage? According to her she liked the idea of a large family and wanted to improve and grow as a human being.
Janelle explains in the Sister Wives teaser, “The whole purpose, we truly believe, of living plural marriage is that you have to learn how not to be selfish.”

Sister Wives News: Is Sister Wives Over?
Meri says her father took his first plural wife when she was 11 years old: “I guess, for me, it was just being raised in it. I had a lot of years with other moms and other siblings that weren’t just from my mom. So it wasn’t out of the ordinary for me.”
For her part Christine wanted to experience the “sisterhood” of polygamy. “To me, that’s what family was, was a lot of grandmas. And then I had two moms. That’s what a normal family was to me.”
Then Kody Brown drops a bomb. “I’ve told friends that I didn’t want to be an advocate of plural marriage anymore, because I am more aware now than I ever was before of the apparent and obvious unfairness in the relationship.”
Oh my. Is the end of Sister Wives near?
