The Duke of Cambridge said, “This Anzac Day, Catherine and I join Australians and New Zealanders across the world to remember and honor the service men and women of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.”
“Today we stand together to reflect not only on their sacrifices, but also their courage, sense of duty, and their famously indomitable spirit.”
He went on to say, “Though many will still be unable to come together in person this year, we are heartened in the knowledge that Australians and New Zealanders will continue to commemorate those who have given so much for our freedoms.”

William added that, “’The Anzac qualities of endurance, courage, ingenuity, good humor and mateship are admired as fiercely as ever before. Lest we forget.”
These words of tribute were delivered in a message to the New Zealand and Australian High Commissions in London. The message was accompanied by some Anzac biscuits.
Anzac Day has a history of being remembered in London since the first anniversary of the Anzac landings at Gallipoli. Back then, King George V attended a service at Westminster Abbey and the tradition began.
Over the years the commemorative services have become a cherished moment for thousands of expatriates and visiting New Zealanders and Australians.

The service and commemoration come after a period of official mourning for Price Philip who died earlier this month. He was laid to rest last Saturday after dying at the age of 99 at Windsor Castle. His wife of 73 years, Queen Elizabeth, was at his side.
Many thought that that the funeral would be a time of mending fences between the family and loquacious Prince Harry who ripped his family up one side down the other in a vicious attack filmed with Oprah Winfrey and televised to millions. But since his return home he has continued to leak private details and conversations, leading some to say his family have halted talks with him.
