Season 30 of Dancing With The Stars: Host And Judges News!
Ever since beloved Dancing With The Stars host Tom Bergeron exited, fans have speculated about who might host season 30. Tyra Banks replaced Tom last season.
But Banks’ decision to step into the challenging role hasn’t stopped rumors (and hopes of his fans) that Bergeron might return. ABC may have hoped to stop the speculation with the announcement of Tyra Banks’ return for her second season as DWTS host.
The network also revealed who will return to judge Dancing With The Stars. Get ready to write down your ratings for the returning judges: Len Goodman, Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli.
Tyra Banks Laughs Off DWTS Critics
Controversy earmarked season 29 of Dancing With The Stars. In particular, Tyra Banks in her first season as host came in for criticism from viewers.
Fans of Tom Bergeron repeatedly compared Tyra to Tom… and the America’s Next Top Model creator didn’t succeed in charming viewers in the same way as Bergeron had.
But an insider told E News that Banks doesn’t worry about being forced to exit like Tom. After her experience on America’s Next Top Model, her own talk show, and America’s Got Talent, Tyra knows how to deflect criticism.
“Yeah, I had a lot of fun but I messed up. I said the wrong words, but I kept going,” said Banks of her first season on Dancing With The Stars.
The insider confirmed that statement, adding that the ABC executives “love her.” And ultimately, the all-important ratings were higher during Tyra’s reign as host.
As a result, added the insider, “Tyra is not worried about losing or fighting to save her job.” Calling Banks a “pro” in regard to the critics, the source summed up, “She tunes out the noise and doesn’t listen to social media critiques.”
Will season 30 of Dancing With The Stars result in another exciting down-to-the-wire race for the Mirrorball Trophy? Season 29 crowned The Bachelorette amateur dancer Kaitlyn Bristowe and her professional partner Artem Chigvintsev as the winners. Adding to the excitement of DWTS, viewers watched Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause and dancer Keo Motsepe find (temporarily, at least) romance.
