As Teen Mom OG star, Amber Portwood tells it, she hasn’t seen her daughter in a while, and the relationship between the two has continued to be a strained one.
In Tuesday’s premiere of Teen Mom OG the reality star revealed that she and her daughter have not spoken in “quite some time.”
Teen Mom OG: ‘My Relationship with Her [Amber] Has Changed’
Speaking to cameras the Teen Mom OG alum spoke of her relationship struggles with her daughter saying that the relationship has “changed a lot,” and that she hasn’t “seen her in quite some time.”
In the April Teen Mom OG reunion, the mother of two walked off set after having words with Gary Shirley, Leah’s father, and his wife Kristina.
According to E! News Amber said it was because Kristina, 33, had gotten in between her and her daughter.
Amber had said during the episode that she was “going to stop this right now because we’re going to end this.”
Teen Mom OG: Kristina Is “Getting in the Way”
In the same reunion episode, Amber had thanked her ex, Greg, 34, for “sticking up” for her but emphasized that his wife was “absolutely horrible at it.
She went on to tell Gary, “I appreciate you. You know it. We’ve known each other for how many years? Fifteen years now, and I’m going tell you right now, you are a great person.”
Standing up from her seat on the couch she continued, saying, “You’ve always been there for me when I’ve asked you to be there for me. You said I could trust you and I did trust you,” adding, “but I can’t trust your wife.”
The reality star goes on to tell her ex that, though he has always tried to bring her closer to her daughter that Kristina has always tried to tear them apart.
She then said she was going to go ahead and leave while Gary was telling her that Kristina wasn’t getting in the way of Amber and her daughter.
Teen Mom OG: ‘What She Said About Me Was Very Hurtful’
In the premiere episode of Teen Mom OG that aired on Tuesday, September 7, Amber spoke with her mother about her relationship woes with her daughter Leah saying that she was hurt by comments Leah had made last season, saying that Amber had “just birthed” her and then “left” her.
“What she said about me was very hurtful,” the reality star had said.
“I was a bit shocked,” she said adding that she felt like someone was “in her ear.”
Speaking through tears she said, “And it’s not right.”
She later told a producer that she was “very said” and that Gary and his wife had not been answering her calls.
“I was ignored.”
