Dancing With the Stars News: ABC Denies Olivia Jade Giannulli is Guaranteed to Remain Until Week 3
Dancing With the Stars news reveals that ABC’s famed dance show doesn’t shy away from controversy, indeed it courts the flames. But is one contestant bringing too much heat to the dance floor, and we by that we don’t mean her rumba?
Olivia Jade Giannulli was considered by many to be one of the show’s more controversial casting choices for Season 30 after her parents were busted and went to jail for trying to bribe her grade-challenged derrière into USC. Now ABC executive Robert Mills is having to address rumors that the perky brunette is once again on the receiving end of special favors.
Dancing With the Stars News: Olivia Jade Giannulli is Controversial
Mills is the EVP of Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment and he took it upon himself to respond to, “a tweet based on a blind gossip item on Monday, September 27,” according to People. “#OliviaJade supposed has a deal to stay at least 3 weeks without being in danger on #DWTS,” the post read.
Sounds an awful lot like the type of elite privilege-ness her family is into, doesn’t it?
Mills isn’t having it. “This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard,” he replied. “The show is a competition and as such is subject to legal and broadcast standard regulations.” Um, he didn’t say ‘no’ though did he?
Of course all of this rumor and speculation is just that. For the record.
DWTS News: Is Olivia Jade Getting Special Treatment?
The 22-year-old non-college student and YouTuber once said she watched DWTS, “as a fresh start after her parents, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, pled guilty to fraud charges after they were indicted in the nationwide college admissions scandal in 2019.”
Olivia’s Fuller House alum mom spent two months in prison in 2020, and her fashion designer dad five-months for trying to get both of his daughters into a premiere school without them earning it.
Olivia said on the September 20 DWTS premiere, “The last few years I’ve been wrapped up in a scandal. I did step back from social media and just soak in what everybody was saying. I’m not trying to pull a pity card, I just need to step forward and do better.”
Dancing With the Stars News: Is Olivia Jade Destined to Win?
This week Us Weekly confirmed that Loughlin is set to reprise her role as When Calls the Heart’s Abigail Stanton in the spinoff of the Hallmark series, When Hope Calls set to air on GAC Family in December. When Lori’s bad behavior got her in trouble with the law, Hallmark Channel cut her off but now it would seem she’s done the time for her crime and it’s back to hugs and hot cocoa.
