On November 3, the new season of My 600-Lb Life begins. One of this season’s featured stars, Nathan, begins his journey topping the scales at 607 pounds, reports Hollywood Life. But Nathan doesn’t tell his story alone.
From the perspective of Nathan’s wife Amber, her husband’s weight has put an almost unbearable weight on their marriage. She confesses that they “never” experienced a sexual relationship. As a result, My 600-Lb Life explores both Amber’s hesitation in staying and Nathan’s desire to save his marriage. And then he makes a shocking confession.
“I want to be off experiencing things with my family,” pleads Nathan. “But I can’t because of my size. And now I feel like grocery shopping is the only thing that me and Amber have left together, and it’s the only thing we do together aside from eating.”

In a rare look at what it’s like loving an obese individual, My 600-Lb Life gives Amber the chance to express her views. For instance, Nathan’s wife feels that she must constantly care for him. And that demand makes her relationship feel “very strained.”
Looking at their married life, Amber shares what she misses in her relationship with Nathan. “I miss being able to have I guess an intimate relationship,” admits Amber. “Not like a sexual relationship because Nathan and I have never. That’s not what it’s about, but just like being able to spend quality time with each other where it doesn’t involve care.”

And ultimately, says Amber, she fears that she can’t save herself without sacrificing Nathan. Weighing more than 400 pounds currently, Amber blames Nathan for her own obesity. She feels “scared” that she will become like her husband in just a few years.
“I’m having trouble doing what I need for myself,” reveals Amber. “I’m over 400 pounds now. That’s what living like this has done for me.” As a result of her physical and mental exhaustion, Amber feels “like Nathan’s just let me down as a husband altogether.” Should she stay or should she go? While she continues to feel “love for Nathan,” she “just can’t keep going like this, neither of us can.”
Can Amber save herself without letting go of her marriage to Nathan? And will Nathan finally turn his life around with significant weight loss? “I feel like I’m a burden to my whole family, and I’m ashamed of that. And if it gets to be too much for Amber, I’m scared she’s going to leave me,” confesses Nathan.
