Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) generous donation means that he is Dominic’s genetic father. Yes, everyone intended to have Chance serve as the boy’s dad. But the reality would have been (or will be) that Devon retains an unbreakable bond with his offspring, while Chance is a father figure.
Unless the anticipated new Chance is not introduced for many months, Devon will assume a fatherly role. That could lead to a different type of bond developing with his longtime friend, Abby.

The subject header question is reasonable. Chance’s suggested return will naturally create elation. But then life will return to daytime normal.

Well , I’m sorry but I hope Chance’s Character isn’t compromised. He’s been thru enough. I hope he gets help to show how it’s possible to come home & with hard work to get back into his family life !!! That’s paramount. I hope writers don’t play around with this “”Reentry ”” into civilian life as there are too many of our service people ( men & women) returned home . Now what . Yes, dedication to helping that person gradually “Reenter” their life & if they have family !!
Chance should have that opportunity in this Soap !! Doesn’t happen overnight . He seems really trying with Dominic and baby will get to know him quickly.
Keep Devon away. He’s biological but gave up that “father right”. He & Mariah need to go on , be an adult , honor your agreement.
Remember many couples have this situation. Not fair to the child and certainly not the new parent that couldn’t have their own baby. When you really want a baby , that’s devastating news. So grow up Devon, Mariah and Especially Abby. She’s a mess. Hope she has a rude awakening and stop being selfish and stupid.
