The Duggars spoilers reveal that Jim Bob Duggar has defended forcing his children to do the show Counting On. He told them that it wasn’t work and that it was for fun. This also was told to her children by Michelle Duggar and by the words that they used with their children, Michelle and Jim Bob kept all of the money that they earned from TLC.
It took one of the daughters, Jill Duggar, to come out and get a lawyer for the amount of money that she was owed.
19 Kids and Counting
In 2010, there were many cases filed that showed that there were reality television shows that had not gotten all of their work permits for their children to be on the shows. This included the Duggars. Jim Bob and Michelle failed to obtain work permits for their children and he made the argument that their show was just a documentary. He said that his kids were not working and just making the show for fun.
When the Duggars were working on their show, they were making a lot of money. They made at least $45,000 per episode during their time on 19 Kids and Counting. Where did the money go? Jim Bob has been accused of taking it all from his children and Jill made a big fuss about never being paid and eventually the Duggar children were able to finally get the money they were owed.
Fighting For Money
Now that Counting On has been canceled, how are the Duggars making money? Many of them fought with legal action in order to get paid from the shows and Jim Bob still stands by the fact that the money was used for travel expenses and food.
Jill’s husband, Derick Dillard wrote, “For a long time, Jill and I were under the impression that the family didn’t make any money from the show, but, rather, it was presented to us kids as something that was done as a ministry that TLC periodically subsidized in the form of reimbursements for things like gas, restaurants, travel, etc.”
The Duggar children have worked hard on being in the reality show spotlight and it looks like with Josh Duggar’s conviction, they will continue to be in the spotlight.
