‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Gets TLC Spin-Off: ‘1,000-Lb Best Friends’ Video Preview!

‘1,000-Lb Best Friends’ Follows ‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Success!

Starting with their first year as reality TV stars, Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton Halterman proved that viewers feel fascinated by dramatic weight loss wars. As a result of their success on “1000-Lb Sisters,” TLC created a spin-off, reported E News. Get ready to meet two pairs of best friends dealing with feeling, as one says, “Big as hell!”

The new series, “1,000-Lb Best Friends,” debuts on Monday, Feb. 7. A TLC spokesperson explained how the network got inspired to create the “1000-Lb Sisters” spin-off.

“The ratings success of 1,000-lb. Sisters has made one thing clear: Our audience loves personal journeys of makeover featuring authentic, bold and very boisterous personalities,” shared Howard Lee, President of TLC Streaming and Network Originals. “This show is about weight loss and leading a healthier lifestyle just as much as it is about a tight-knit group of girlfriends that love to have a good time.”

Meet The “1,000-Lb Best Friends”!

Best friends Vannessa and Meghan first appeared in the series, “Too Large.” And the two BFFs don’t hold back in discussing their weight wars. “We’re big as hell,” teases Meghan. And Vannessa admits, “Me and this girl have been struggling with our weight since junior high.”

Supporting each other against high school bullies, Vannessa and Meghan have tried dieting as a duo. But then Meghan opted for weight loss surgery. And that left Vannessa floundering to find her footing.

“Meghan got the surgery and I didn’t,” shares Vannessa. “But maintaining my diet has been damn near impossible, but I’m sick and tired of being fat and tired.” Hoping to help her, two  other BFFs, Ashely and Tina, step up to the scale.

“They’re trying to help us through this,” notes Vannessa. “And actually they’re trying to lose weight too.” But prepare for more than just another diet show. As Meghan warns, “Four big attitudes can make things kind of crazy!”

‘1,000-Lb Best Friends’ Spoilers: Watch The Trailer!

Warning: Spoilers ahead! “1,000-Lb Best Friends” offers fun as well as a focus on weight loss. From “hump testing” beds to camping trips to a water-park visit, the quartet wants to wow at their upcoming high school reunion. But it’s not all fun and games. Vannessa gets blunt, informing Meghan, “The pity party ain’t ok.”

“1,000-Lb Best Friends” debuts Monday, Feb. 7 at 10 p.m. on TLC. In addition, TLC will offer a behind the scenes look, “1,000-lb Best Friends: Inside the Episode.” Fans can watch Meghan and Vannessa comment on what really happened during filming. And for a sneak peek, check out the trailer below!
