Shauna Rae is a 22-year-old “trapped in the body of an 8-year-old,” as she would describe herself. She became popular when TLC started to document her life as she deals with her health condition. Her medical issue started when her mom noticed a bump on the back of her head when she was still 6 months old.
The bump happened to be brain cancer, and at such a young age, Shauna deals with the toughness of the chemotherapy. As a result, her growth stopped at 3 feet and 10 inches tall. Since then, she was diagnosed with pituitary dwarfism and it has been difficult for the TLC star to deal with life because of the judgments she often gets from people.
Shauna Rae Opens Up Herself to Her New Date
As the new season began, Shauna Rae showed excitement over her new date who has the same medical condition as hers. When the two finally met face to face, they toured the firehouse as Thomas is a volunteer firefighter. They also ate at a diner and discussed a lot of experiences.
The TLC star also mentioned that some kids were eyeing her due to her height. Despite their differences, Shauna told PEOPLE that she truly had a great time spending time with Thomas. “Meeting the young man with pituitary dwarfism was an amazing experience. We had a lot in common because of our medical histories. Then our actual social lives are much different,” she stated.
Shauna Rae Talks About Her Dating Life
Other than the firefighter, Shauna got herself another date from Wales. While they were Facetiming, a man named Dan told the TLC star about his plan to visit the USA soon. In her latest chat with PEOPLE, Shauna opened up about her thoughts when it comes to dating.
“My parents have put in my head all the people that could be attracted to me and why they could be attracted to me. I’m always looking for a red flag,” Shauna said. Aside from her dating life, TLC will air new milestones for Shauna in the new season, like her driving lessons experiences as well as moving out from her family and stepping into college.
