Married At First Sight Spoilers: Production Insights – Behind The Scenes

Married at First Sight spoilers and updates tease that with 16 seasons behind them, there have been a lot of things that happen behind the scenes that MAFS fans don’t see in the weekly episodes that air on Lifetime. Even though it doesn’t seem like it, the vetting process is intense.

Married At First Sight Spoilers – Getting To The Altar

By the time the single arrives at the altar, they go through a lot of leg work. They have to pass through tests, interviews, scientific evaluations, 75 questions (then selected people have to do a 500 questionnaire), sign a prenup, and an NDA. Background checks are a must, social media is off limits and their accounts are audited.

The background checks though seem to be flawed, there was this one contestant from Dallas who had an arrest warrant and couldn’t go on the honeymoon.

Those who participate to be matched are paid $1500 per episode. If they stop filming, they will have to pay of fine of $50k.

Pastor Calvin Roberson who serves as one of the present coaches says, “We’re looking at things like their psychological testing, their core values. These are legally binding marriages.”

Married At First Sight Updates – They Are Married

Once the singles have been matched and married to their new spouses, they do have access to MAFS relationship experts who will help them work through their fears, concerns and arguments, as they navigate the first eight weeks of their marriage, before Decision Day. If the couples do seek a divorce, granted that it is within a certain timeline, the show will pay for it, otherwise, they are on their own.

The couples are provided with an apartment for eight weeks, they don’t have to live there, but they do have to film there.

In the past annulments were not permitted, but that changed when Taylor/Brandon and Michael/Meka both got annulments.

In the past 3 or 4 seasons, MAFS fans have been negative about the participants being matched for drama. But, in reality, drama is why most people watch the show anyway. It would be terribly boring for a nice, normal couple to get along perfectly with no issues, kind of like a Hallmark movie.

What do you think about the whole process, do you think it is tough enough in the vetting process to find the right people to match?
