Sister Wives: Gwendlyn Brown Has a Show of Her Own
Sister Wives spoilers reveal that, according to Screen Rant, Gwendlyn, 21, revealed her disappointment in the TLC network for introducing her sexuality as a topic for discussion. She is known for reviewing new episodes of the show on her YouTube channel often as soon as they drop.
The Sister Wives veteran has been producing content on her channel for practically every episode since her mother Christine Brown, 50, left Kody and returned to Utah in November 2021. For every episode, the TLC personality has discussed life in a polygamist family, promoting Sister Wives, whether intentionally or otherwise.
Gwendlyn Brown Accuses TLC of Exploitation
It is worth noting, however, that Gwendlyn came out about her bisexuality in October 2022 (PEOPLE). Today reported at the time that her mother, Christine had said that she and her daughter had “great conversations” about it.
According to the outlet, Gwendlyn revealed her LGBTQ status during the season 17 episode “Telling Truly” but her family seemed to have known for some time. Discussing the moment that she had been asked to discuss her sexuality on air, she said, “I look so mad at the moment, and I wasn’t even upset. I was a little disappointed,” via her YouTube channel.
She revealed that, at the time, she had been under the impression that the talk was going to be about her parents’ divorce, but it quickly became about her sexual orientation.
TLC Was Like Ooh, We Have Another Queer
And while Gwendlyn reportedly admitted that what she imagined to be the reason for the impromptu query into her sexuality may not have been accurate, “it did feel weird.”
PEOPLE also reports, via Yahoo! News, that in her latest YouTube video, she claimed she was asked to discuss being bisexual on the TLC series amid her parents’ Kody and Christine Brown’s messy divorce. “I look so mad in the moment, and I wasn’t even upset. I was a little disappointed,” she recalled as she discussed the 2022 episode. “I thought we were going to talk about the divorce. And all of the sudden, they were like, ‘We’re going to talk about your sexuality, Gwendlyn.’”
She added, “They were like, ‘Ooh, we have another queer. We’re going to exploit that. And make ourselves famous,’” before backtracking to explain, “I’m sure it’s not, but it did feel weird. They also had me talk about my autism here too. I was like, ‘That’s weird.’ I thought we were going to talk about my parents’ divorce.”
