What We Know About Michael Halterman
Michael Halterman is a 40-year-old man and, as such, has lived a relatively full life ahead of appearing on 1000-Lb. Sisters. And, as it turns out, that full life included a criminal element. A mug shot and public records revealed by Soap Dirt show that Halterman was arrested in Henderson, Kentucky back in 2015, five years ahead of appearing on 1000-Lb. Sisters. The records reveal that the TLC personality was subsequently charged with “assault, 4th degree (domestic violence) minor injury.”
The records do not give any additional details about the domestic violence situation and how it came to be. Of course, numerous Reddit threads make hypotheses on the matter. The rumor is that the charge involved Halterman striking his former wife in the face. There have also reportedly been accusations floating around Reddit that Michael once aggressively laid his hands on his own grandmother.
Unsubstantiated Rumors About Michael Halterman
Those 1000-Lb. Sisters fans who claim Michael Halterman once assaulted his own grandmother are insisting that there were news stories backing up the claims. Those same fans assert that there was, at one time, a good deal of well-documented backstory on Halterman along with the rest of the cast, available on Reddit. However, these so-called founts of information appear to have been washed away and so, at this point, it’s strictly speculation.
