Sister Wives: Kody Brown Doesn’t Advocate Polygamous Marriage?

Sister Wives: Kody Brown Doesn't Advocate Polygamous Marriage?

Sister Wives started airing on TLC over a decade ago. All along, the premise of the show was that polygamists could be normal people with big happy families. However, it didn’t turn out that way. Now, it seems that Kody Brown no longer advocates for his own lifestyle. Now that three wives have gone, did Robyn get what she always wanted?

Sister Wives: Kody Brown Was All About Religion & Polygamy

The Brown family at one stage seemed extremely religious. While they might not go to church much, Kody still belongs to the Apostolic United Brethren. The fundamentalist church doesn’t have any problems with polygamy, and in fact, believes that the more wives and kids you have, the bigger the reward will be in heaven. And that explains why Meri felt compelled to stay as she was still spiritually connected to Kody.

Sister Wives Janelle Brown followed Christine out the door in Season 17. Although they are separated, she won’t divorce Kody as she also believes in that spiritual union. Actually, rumors were around that the church elders were angry with them and gave them the boot for doing the show. But new rumors suggest that it was all just for show. However, it seems like Kody might not be playing the polygamous game again.

Sister Wives: Kody Cautions Against Polygamous Life

These days, the chances of seeing a post on Twitter or Instagram by Kody Brown are slim. However, he does go on Cameo and he sells messages and videos to his fans. This week, one of them ended up in the hands of Katie Joy from Without A Crystal Ball on Instagram. In it, he talked to someone who was considering polygamous marriage.

Apart from the fact that he had a lot of kids, the Sister Wives star couldn’t seem to say anything good about being married to multiple women. In fact,  he said that he started off in polygamy because of his “faith,” and felt “it was required.” Additionally, he talked about the problems of intimacy and seemed to refer to jealousy issues. Then he said that he would caution anyone rushing into it, because “it’s a difficult lifestyle.”

TLC Fans React

Sister Wives fans took to the comments section. Actually, Katie Joy mentioned that Robyn might not get the new wife that is rumored to be in the works. Mind you, some fans believe Robyn always wanted to be the only wife.

One fan said, “I will say the one thing that does make sense is him thinking it was required for his faith. I blame that on his parents. He was on a Mormon mission when his parents became polygamists. I think Kody always had a need to try and please an abusive father and joining mom and dad in this cult, seemed like the right thing.”
