Mama June spoilers reveal that as Alana Thompson was trying to figure out just who she would be living with, she battled some really tough mental health issues. The teenager just graduated high school and she couldn’t be happier about where she is in life these days. This wasn’t always the case though. There were times in her life where she just didn’t know what would happen the day after. She has battled depression and now she is opening up about it with her fans.
The Custody Battle
Now that Alana has grown up before our eyes on television, her life hasn’t always been rainbows and butterflies. During the custody battle between her mother, Mama June Shannon and Lauryn Efird, Alana had a very tough time. She told her fans, “Age 14 to 16 was probably some of the toughest years of my life. I had doubts that I would never even graduate. I was in a really bad depression throughout those years and honestly didn’t know what to do.”
She went on to say, “Today I look at myself and I realize that I’m actually at peace with my life right now. I’m so happy I can literally say that I graduated high school with a 3.0 and in August, I will be going to my dream college to be a neonatal nurse.”
Alana Gets Love
During Alana’s high school graduation, she got a lot of love from her family and her friends. Her mother, June made a video of her graduating and had to share it with all of her fans on social media. In the video, fans could hear her family screaming for her and cheering her on. June told her fans, “I’m so proud of her. She is our 2023 graduate and yes, we were hollering the whole time. And y’all know I screamed ‘work it smoochie’ one last time. We were all hollering the whole time.”
Alana has been pretty quiet about where she was attending college for her own privacy. This week she did reveal that she was attending Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She received a scholarship and will be studying to become a neonatal nurse. Alana has her eyes on the prize and is ready to show her fans that she is more than just a reality television star. There are questions about if she will be on television while she is at college, but she has yet to make an official statement about that. Her fans are thrilled that she is making this huge step to achieving her lifelong goals.
